FLUX.1 Fill pro Product Photography Texture: Inpainting Approach for E-commerce-Grade Output
A demonstration of texture transformation for e-commerce product images using the targeted inpainting capability of FLUX.1 Fill [pro]: provide a base product photo and a same-sized black-and-white mask, repainting only within the white areas of the mask according to the prompt while keeping the black areas unchanged. The positioning of this model family is a repair/editing model rather than a text-to-image model, so the approach of this work is "first lock the product subject and composition, then change only what needs changing" — keep the subject outside the mask, and place the product volumes to be rebuilt, the contact shadow on the surface, and the background light band inside the mask, describing material, light source direction, and reflection relationships in the prompt so that the repainted area naturally blends with the lighting and perspective of the original image. The copy emphasizes three reusable lessons: in the prompt, first write "what it is" (product category, material, surface finish), then "how the light hits" (key light direction, sense of softbox size, edge highlights), and finally "what it touches" (surface material, softness/hardness of the contact shadow); for text and fine structures, allow for multiple attempts. Applicable scenarios: batch part edits for e-commerce main images and detail page product retouching, material and color swaps, studio background replacement and frame extension; also usable for local adjustments to architectural and interior renderings. Before use, an additional region annotation or segmentation step is required to produce the mask, and results are sensitive to mask quality.

Prompt
Realistic e-commerce product photography, 16:9 composition. A matte ceramic skincare bottle is centered on a smooth light gray stone pedestal, with a seamless soft gray studio background. A large octagonal softbox key light from the upper left, paired with a subtle rim light from the right, creates a soft gradient falloff on the background and a controlled highlight on the bottle shoulder. The contact shadow beneath the pedestal is soft and close to the ground, with a faint reflection on the pedestal. Shot with a 100mm macro lens at f/8, the product is in sharp focus overall, neutral color balance, clean and minimalist commercial retouching, no extra props, no text.
